The optical roots of MOSCOT were planted in the United States by the great-grandfather and the family patriarch, Hyman Moscot, who arrived from Eastern Europe via Ellis Island in 1899. Hyman started selling ready-made glasses from a wheelbarrow on Orchard Street in the famous Lower Manhattan's East Side.
